-----The airline has recently started flying from Heraklion on Crete to Araxos, near Patras.
This is a new air connection not covered neither by Olympic Airlines nor by Aegean Airways. Heraklion will be connected to Patras in a first stage, while in winter the flight will be extended to Thessaloniki.
The flight fare will cost 110 euro including taxes and a free shuttle service between Araxos airport and Patras. It should be pointed out that this is the first civil flight to Araxos airport, which operated as a military airport until now.
Sky Express will fly small aircraft of up to 30 seats in this route, to ensure its economic viability.
Heraklion-based Sky Express was established in 2005. It is run by Miltiadis Tsagarakis, the pilot of ex-PM Andreas Papandreou, and by Georgios Mavrantonakis, a former Olympic Airways manager.
The company flies 19-seat Jetstream 31/32 aircraft with a crew of two pilots and one steward.------
